The Kappa Delta Pi society is a community of scholars dedicated to worthy ideals. KDP "recognizes scholarship and excellence in education, promotes the development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices, enhances the continuous growth and leadership of its diverse membership, fosters inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues, and maintains a high degree of professional fellowship."

Kappa Delta Pi, Zeta Omega Chapter (chartered in 1951), at the University of Houston is an International Honor Society for undergraduates and graduates working toward their Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degrees. KDP is composed of creative, resourceful, and dedicated students and members from all departments and program areas. It works with its members to enhance the understanding of educational practice throughout the college and the community.
